Trans-Pacific Partnership and Telling on President Obama

President Obama has shown where his allegiance lies, with the signing of this trade pact. You have one guess and it can’t be; #BlackLiveMatter or #BlackChurchesBurning.

This is BAD, BAD NEWS. If you have to go into a BASEMENT to read it, and it’s only open to certain people, that is a red flag. A Congress that thumbed their nose at Obama voting with him? A red flag. What did NAFTA do for us except take a bunch of jobs and send them overseas to desperate people willing to be treated like shit. (for example, Apple). There are also concerns that things like child labor will be more prevalent under this because of a clause stating that anything that hinders business can be done away with. i.e. labor laws. ugh. train wreck. There is one goal and one goal only: GAIN FOR CORPORATIONS AT ANY COST, INCLUDING HUMAN.

In promoting a proposed trade pact covering 12 Pacific Rim nations, President Obama has cast the initiative as an instrument of equity. The Trans-Pacific Partnership would, in his words, “level the playing field” and “give our workers a fair shot.”
But critics argue that within the hundreds of pages of esoteric provisions, the deal, like similar ones before it, includes a glaring double standard: It provides legal rights to corporations and investors that it does not extend to unions, public interest groups and individuals.
